For this assignment, Professor Rao asks for articles about a "current event," something that's happened within the past month. Finding such information involves searching newspapers and magazines that track business affairs, such as The Economist. Check the length of the articles you're considering using. Investment in reading a longer article means having more to discuss and being able to raise questions that require more than a "yes" or "no" answer. Here's some possible sources of articles:
E-Journals A-Z can help you find full-text access without hitting paywals. Click on the link here, or go to http://www.mmm.edu > Inside MMC > Library > E-Journals A-Z (icon or list on the left). At the search page, you have options:
If you know there's a journal, click on the radio button to limit your search to journals and type in the journal's name. If MMC has full-text access, the database with the access will pop up. Check that you're getting access "to present" to fulfill this assignment, and click through. This is a good technique for following a particular journal's work, such as Fast Company and its reporting on new models of entrepreneurship.
If you don't know there's a journal, change "Title Begins With" to "Title Contains All Words" and insert the kind of business you'd like to study, such as cosmetics (You might have to try a few synonyms!) Limit yourself to Journals, and then click on the journal titles that best suit your needs.
